Are the walls of your family, life, and friendships in ruin and burned? Has the enemy devastated your home and caused havoc? If this is you, I have good news for you, God is giving you the green light to arise and build. In 587/86 BCE Nebuchadnezzar II of Babylon led a siege and destroyed the temple in Jerusalem. When the prophet Nehemiah found out, he was distraught… so much so that he couldn’t hide his sadness in front of King Artaxerxes. But because Nehemiah had great favor from God, the king allowed him to go and rebuild.
When I think of ruins, I think of the following… families divided, siblings not speaking to each other, outright rebellion against Christ, abuse, divorce, and so much more. How can we unite our families and put a hedge of protection? The only way is to arise and rebuild in prayer, to pick up ourselves and begin to pray and intercede for one another. In the end, Nehemiah was able to go back to Jerusalem and encourage his people to work together to rebuild and he asked God to have mercy on his people, to forgive their sins. Without question, there will be opposition, but “The God of heaven Himself will propers us; therefore we His servants will arise and build.” Today, take a moment to meditate on this word, now is the time to step up and edify your home. No one else will do it for you, and God has called you to be that person to intercede on behalf of your family. It is time to repair, rebuild, and to restore what was destroyed by the enemy. You will see supernatural changes in your family the moment you step in faith and revive in prayer.
“Those who built on the wall, and those who carried burdens, loaded themselves so that with one hand they worked at construction, and with the other held a weapon.”
Amen
