Build your house on the rock

By Jennifer Moreno

There is no surprise that in this life on earth we will experience trials and tribulations. Whether you are believer in Christ or not, these are things everyone will experience. The question is, what are you built on? Is your house built on the rock, which is the Word of God or is it on something else, which is on sand?

Matthew 7:24-27 says the following – “Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock. 26 And everyone who hears these words of mine and does not do them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. 27 And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell, and great was the fall of it.”

Those who don’t listen and do the Word of God are called foolish. Building your life on the foundation from the Word of God means something, it means your life will be in order, your hope and guidance is in the Lord versus your self reliance or what the world says.

Psalm 119:89 says “Your word, LORD, is eternal; it stands FIRM in the heavens.” Everything will fade and wash away, but the Word of God will remain forever and ever. Therefore, if your life is founded on His Word, you life will stand on a rock no matter what trials come.

Others may quit, but you have Christ with you. And if God is for you, who can be against you? If you have Christ, no weapon formed against you shall prosper. And if you have Christ, you have a Spirit of power, love, and sound mind.

Whenever you get caught up in desserts or situations that seem to never have an end, remember who is watching and knows everything that is happening to you. Sometimes God takes these hardships in your life to produce the best work in you, this time could possibly be your finest hour, your hour of triumph.

Consider what Job said during his time of trial …JOB 23:8-10

“But if I go to the east, he is not there;
if I go to the west, I do not find him.
9 When he is at work in the north, I do not see him;
when he turns to the south, I catch no glimpse of him.
10 But he knows the way that I take;
when he has tested me, I will come forth as gold.”

If you notice, Job is desperately searching for God and wondering where is He. But in verse 10 you see Job acknowledging that God knows the way he is taking and is aware that God is testing him. But the most amazing part is knowing that after this trial he will come forth as GOLD and so will you.

Take a look at what Psalm 139:17 says “How precious to me are your thoughts, God! How vast is the sum of them!”

His thoughts about you are precious! So take comfort in knowing that He is with you and He won’t ever forsake you. No matter what, you’re already victorious in Jesus because you have everything, you have salvation in the name of Jesus Christ.

Amen.
