Identity

by Jeremiah Model

Identity is probably one of the largest playing grounds the enemy has when it comes to combating against mankind.

The enemies of our soul combat against our spirit man twenty-four hours a day. Revelations chapter 12 verses 11 to 13 expounds on this immortal battle it says “Then I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying,
Now the salvation, and the power, and the kingdom of our God
and the authority of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our
brethren has been thrown down, he who accuses them before our
G-d day and night.

11 And they overcame him because of the blood of the Lamb and
because of the word of their testimony, and they did not love
their life even when faced with death.

12 For this reason, rejoice, O heavens and you who dwell in them.
Woe to the earth and the sea, because the devil has come down to
you, having great wrath, knowing that he has only a short time.”

The enemies time is short, his strategies are not to be over looked, his tactics are still the same he does not change. The enemy seeks to get you to come into agreement with you, with lies that deceive. He seeks to get the believers to agree with the past and stay stuck in present without a vision for the future.

Lets look at a tactic that the enemy tried to use against Jesus after he finished a forty day fast. In Luke chapter 4 verse 3 we see the dialogue between Satan and Jesus. It might look like the first temptation was with food because Jesus was hungry after his fast, but the true test was about his identity. He asked Jesus if he was the Son of God?

Satan does the same with us today the only difference is that Jesus was sinless, we are not. Satan had no hooks on Jesus, due to our fallen nature the enemy acquires legal rights from birth. It is up to us to acquire those rights back and serve an eviction notice to the thief.

One way to serve an eviction notice to the thief is to release your heart to Jesus that is the first step. As for me, I make it a habit to release everyone, including myself on a daily basis. What I mean by releasing is to let go of hurts, pains, snares, offenses, and traumas done to you or you doing it to others. It is as simple as getting in G-d’s presence and really releasing what is pent up inside of you. Another tactic is to wash your mind with the word daily replacing your our inner dialogue with what G-d has to say about you, this is called meditating on scripture it is very powerful.

One scripture that sticks out to me about meditating on G-d’s word the most is Joshua chapter 1 verse 8 which says “Keep the book of Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. The second scripture that ties in meditation to success is psalm chapter 1 verses 1 to 3. Blessed is the man that does not walk in the counsel of the wicked, nor does he stand in the way of sinners, nor does he sit in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law he meditates day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither and what ever he does prospers.”

If we can come into one agreement today lets agree with what G-d has to say about us.
