One of my favorite verses in the Bible is 1 John 4:4 which states “You, dear children, are from G-d and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.”
This verse applies only to the one who has accepted Yeshua as Messiah. The spirit of G-d can only be present in the body of one, that has invited his presence to dwell inside.
G-d is a gentleman, he does not go where he is not asked or invited. It is very possible to be a believer, but yet again have a barren soul. Restoration is something that needs to take place.
The one that is in the world refers to the spirit of lawlessness. The spirit of the anti messiah or anti Christ in Greek. We as the followers of the Messiah have power over the worlds darkness. The following verse will shed some light regarding the power we have over the world of evil.
Luke Chapter 10 verses 18-20 says “And He said to them, ‘I was watching Satan fall from heaven like lightning. Behold, I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing will injure you. Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rejoice that your names are recorded in heaven.'”
The G-d of Heaven and Earth has given us the ability to subdue the forces of darkness. When you are in messiah it is important to know your authority. We are overcomers not underachievers. We are blessed not cursed.
It is also very important to understand that G-d is not out to get you. He is not out to harm people, our G-d is into the blessing business this is the language of G-d.
We must understand who we are in Him if we are called to the great commission. Yeshua knew what His calling was and as his followers so should we.
Act 10:38 explains how G-d anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with Him.
If you take a look at Isaiah chapter 8 verse 10 you see another bold statement against the enemy it states “Devise your strategy, but it will be thwarted; propose your plan, but it will not stand, for G-d is with us.”
If possible on your behalf as an exercise this week, meditate on G-ds power and invite him to take you for a tour of the impossible. Ask for things that you thought you might not be capable of doing. Challenge your belief system and internal dialogue, make it a game with G-d.
Ask of Him and He will show you things that you never knew existed. If you are a skeptic I dare you to call on G-ds name because I guarantee He will show up.
The psalmist’s were well aware of G-ds presence and his covering, psalm 23 verses 3 through 5 explains “He restores my soul; He guides me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You have anointed my head with oil; My cup overflows.
God doesn’t owe us anything- yet in His grace, He still gives us good things. – Billy Graham
