Laughter of the Kingdom

Laughter is an intricate part of the kingdom of the Heaven. Psalm 2 verses 1-6 explains

Why do the nations conspire
and the people plot in vain?

The kings of the earth rise up
and the rulers band together
against the Lord and against his anointed, saying,

“Let us break their chains
and throw off their shackles.”

The One enthroned in heaven laughs;
the Lord scoffs at them.

He rebukes them in his anger
and terrifies them in his wrath, saying, I have installed my king
on Zion, my holy mountain.”

If it is good for G-d to laugh it should be good for his followers to laugh frequently.

Laughter is a kingdom weapon against the enemy of humanity. John chapter 10 verse 10 explains “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.”

It is obvious that the enemy comes to steal and squat on what is most valuable to us. He comes to take our joy, our life and our vitality when he is allowed to trespass.

When we are joyous the enemy becomes weak. He loves when we are serious twenty-four hours a day seven days a week. He would like to keep us from not smiling, never laughing, and always tense with headaches, tension and sickness.

The non-appearance of joy and laughter in our faith walk is a very contemplative thing because laughter and joy is the Lords idea, it is a gift to you and me.

In light of sorrows, suffering and pain of this terrene, laughter is one of the few weapons we who have intimacy with the Lord have at our disposal.

It is to the writers belief, there are three main reasons why believers do not engage in laughter along with the Lord more:

1) Some followers of messiah do not know him intimately

2) Some believers do not know themselves.

3) Some believers have allegiance to this world more than Heaven.

I believe Romans 14:17 gives us the best understanding of what the kingdom is and what the enemy would love to steal from us if he is allowed

“For the Kingdom of G-D is not meat and drink; but” righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.

Joy is 1/3 of the Kingdom of Heaven. G-d sits and laughs, he enjoys and has worship parties daily with saints in Heaven that is why the stars sparkle at night.

It is a shame but many people view G-d as a grumpy old mean grandfather who is looking to smack you over the head for any wrong thing that you do.

This view of G-d could not be anymore father from the truth. If this is your view please change your lens.

Have you ever thought of how funny some of the stories in the Bible are?

One that comes to the top of my head is Jonah. He tries to flee G-ds presence like you can really run from G-d.

Then he gets thrown into the sea after the sailors found out the storm was caused because of his presence on the boat.

He gets swallowed by a huge fish or whale, gets spit up on the sea-shore. Goes to Nineveh the place and people he despised, the nation is saved from destruction, and Jonah is pouting at the end because he knew G-d would save them instead of destroying them.

Next time things seem to not be going quite well start laughing, force yourself to laugh. Have a ‘L Chaim’ (to life) cheer with king Jesus like the boys at the last super did at Passover.

Nehemiah 8:10 – “Go and enjoy choice food and sweet drinks, and send some to those who have nothing prepared. This day is holy to our Lord. Do not grieve, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.”
